Realise your life plan

Spatial Insight is a growing company, and therefore we offer jobs to talented people who want to contribute to the public water supply. We combine an informal way of working with developing and applying cutting edge proprietary software in the Netherlands and internationally. Join our team and share the excitement of participating in the company that we’re building up together.

"We're a team of friends, playing at Premier League level"

Within Spatial Insight we treat people in the way we like to be treated ourselves. We are open about what we’re thinking and we try to listen to what others say. In that way we hope to provide an environment for technical experts like you, that helps you to realise your life plan.

We are pragmatic and value providing high-quality output over aesthetics. We assist our clients in efficiently and effectively carrying out their work, thereby contributing to reducing water loss and minimising negative impacts on our environment. We are technicians, zeros and ones flow through our veins. This is our strength and weakness, we’re never satisfied with a result, it can always be improved.

We love to play darts and like to beat each other in our monthly Dutch shuffleboard (sjoelen) competition. We work hard, but we maintain a healthy and good balance between work and private life. We love our families.

Most of our team has worked at water utility companies before. We are familiar in the drinking water sector and we speak the language.

Our focus is on delivering directly applicable technical solutions. We develop our proprietary software with our clients and apply the software in the Netherlands and internationally. Spatial Insight employs consultants and engineers who can provide advice on the software’s use and can coach the asset manager and asset owner for taking responsibility of the asset management process.

Data preparation is a crucial step in modelling and in the application of software. When we prepare data we intend to transform and structure the datasets we receive or access into our standard data model. By doing so, we guarantee a fast configuration and smooth launch of our software. Almost all utilities have gaps in their data, outliers or other data quality issues. In some cases data augmentation can be useful and responsible. This requires domain knowledge, including knowledge of hydraulic modelling, and statistical knowledge. We step in if our clients express a need, or after we have recommended to do so.

Spatial Insight started as a data science consultancy, applying our self-developed algorithms in projects for clients. But when we started to repeat these calculations, we decided to develop SI-Platform, our software environment that hosts our software products. The first software product we launched was BestNet, followed by SI-Rehab Transport, and other products like SI-Rehab, SI-Regression, SI-Portfolio and SI-Cluster will follow. At the same time, we continuously add new general functionality to the platform. For each product we organise annual meetings with customers to decide upon the roadmap for the development of new functionality.

We apply a wide range of statistical and artificial intelligence methods in our consultancy projects and in our software. We believe it’s essential to have domain knowledge and to understand the problem to solve before jumping into tools and methods. In most cases classical statistical methods satisfy, but where AI can be helpful and applied responsibly, we apply this advanced technology as well.

After your first year of employment we offer an employee participation program for staff that are committed to the company.

"We apply what we have developed with our clients"
