Interaction between the asset manager and project executors

When the asset manager has finished his analysis, and after the investments have been approved, the project execution department takes over. Work planners, project leaders, the program manager, team lead and controllers start to prepare the execution of pipe replacement projects. With launching customer WML, Spatial Insight has developed software to support the cooperation between the project executors and the asset manager.

Connection with other systems

SI-Portfolio is synching automatically with other systems within and outside of a utility. Information can be imported from and exported to the GIS-system, data can be exchanged with SynergieNL to be able to align with external stakeholders like the energy network operators and municipalities and connections can be created with ERP-systems like SAP to imoprt and export financial and workflow related data. Configurable data fields are available to add notes about contractors or other information.

Project statuses in priority modelling

When a pipe is included in a replacement project, there is no need to include the pipe in asset management modelling. SI-portfolio changes the status of pipes included in projects in the asset database. After completion of the project, the old pipe’s status changes and the new pipe is added with a new pipe-ID.

Connection with BestNet Project builder

SI-Portfolio connects seamlessly with BestNet’s Project builder. The prioritised pipes are transferred to SI-Portfolio. There, the project leader can add or remove pipes from the proposed projects when practical reasons or knowledge of the local situation give reason to do so. All projects can be scheduled in time in a Gantt chart.

Juri van Tuijl is Spatial Insight's software development lead. After developing software for many parties in different sectors he has joined as co-owner.

SI-Portfolio has a seamless connection with SynergieNL, the platform that the majority of the Dutch drinking water utilities use to align their scheduled works on the network with the other managers of underground infrastructure. Projects will be flagged with a label when they will be executed together in ‘a combi’ with other parties or not if decided so.
