SI-Regression
SI-Regression
The regression analysis is a well-known mathematical analysis to find basic relations in datasets. We apply the method in our SI-Regression software that is available on SI-Platform. This means that users can run the analysis when they want, eg. after every data update. The results, fitted lines for each of the defined pipe cohorts, give insight in the probability of failure that can be expected for each pipe in the network. The relations can be used as input for several other applications like SI-Rehab and BestNet.

The user-interface of SI-Regression in SI-Platform
This makes SI-Regression unique
- Can be run by the user on SI-Platform
- User can update the range of input data easily in the graphical user-interface
- Cohorts can be defined for material, age or diameter
Availability of data
Our software needs data as input. For SI-Regression in particular, the year of installation of each pipe is crucial input. Often, utilities have incomplete data for this parameter. To address this we have developed a transparant white box method to estimate the year of installation for pipes. The method can only be applied in specific situations and may not be able to create values for all pipes.

Selecting the input
Experts know that the failure data in the first years after installation and at higher ages can include extremes that lead to results that are less representative. For that reason, users can very easily, in the graphical user-interface, update the range of years of installtion that are taken into account.
Next steps
SI-Regression can be installed as software-as-a-service. Please contact us to set-up a pilot project.
